Hi. I’m Faith.

I once had a professor ask me what kind of poet I was; I couldn’t answer him. I had no clue what answer he was looking for and, at the time, I didn’t have the retrospective ability to face myself in the mirror and accept the answers I felt in my heart. So I spewed forth a bunch of titles and rhetoric that we both knew was crap and we settled on my A for my independent study course with him. But I never forgot the question.

Like I never forgot the friend that asked me to write a happy poem.

Because I don’t know what a happy poem is like I don’t always know what kind of poet I am. But that is okay because I know what I write about.

I write about my life. I write about my friends. I write the random words that filter through my mind at the most inopportune moments. I don’t follow a genre or any one specific type. I write out the words that sound in my mind. I write about a feeling, an experience, and sometimes about the voices in my head. For a label, I just write about my reality and my perception of this life.

I’m a sometimes type of person. I’m sometimes a writer, sometimes an athlete, sometimes a student and so forth. I have several degrees in which I do nothing with because most of the time I’m following the wind. It’s a scary existence, but it’s my normal and I quite enjoy the insanity of it all.

So feel free to join me, comment or send me what you have. Or even send me a challenge like “write a poem about a dog in a canoe in the sky.”

You can actually send me a writing prompt. I find that you learn more about a person through their writing, even when they are consciously trying to distance him or herself from the content. So send me a topic, a quote, anything you want to see someone write about, I won’t censor any prompt (which will probably get me into some level of trouble but I will deal with that bridge when I get to it).

Welcome to my world.

Thank you for your time.

  1. I love your work because of these reasons. First. They are truth and real
2nd they come from real life experience
3rd they paint a visual picture easily seen
4th they are written in the first person which I can easily slip myself into.
